Once upon a time, GRROWLS held a dog walk in the town of Colonie, a suburb of Albany, NY. The dog walk committee worked very hard planning, sewing, getting advertising, working on the computer, requesting raffle items and hoping the Wicked Weather Witch stayed asleep so that September 23, 2007 would be beautiful and sunny. The committee and all their
little helpers worked their fingers to the bone, had blisters on their feet, limped around on sore knees and got very little sleep. Finally, the day arrived for the dog walk. Registration was ready, the raffle prizes were displayed, the Smooch a Pooch booth was set up, the photo area was arranged, the trainers, Dine (Dogs in Need Everywhere) and all the others were ready. the drinks were iced, the grills for food
were hot and the local newspapers and TV stations were on site. Well, the Wicked Weather Witch never woke up and the weather on September 23 was beautiful. The hoped for number of walkers more than doubled to 95 and the wished for $$$$ figure of $5,000 was surpassed. There was an adoption, a blessing of the animals, a ribbon cutting ceremony, food & drink and a walk through the park called the
Crossings. SUCCESS!!
THE END!
